Newcastle are set to offer Anthony Gordon a new contract amid recent speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, according to a report.
The winger enjoyed a stunning campaign last term and ended the season with 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 Premier League outings.
Gordon’s form for the Magpies saw him earn a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad that reached the final of the European Championship, though he was only afforded a solitary minute during the side’s run.
According to The Athletic, Newcastle are keen to reward the 23-year-old for his performances and will begin contract talks when he returns from his summer break next week.
The news comes amid continued links between the player and a return to the city of his birth, in what would be a sensational switch to the red half of Merseyside.

Gordon moved to St James’ Park from Everton for £40million in January 2023, where he graduated from the academy and made 78 appearances for the first team.
Despite his connection to Goodison Park, Mail Sport revealed that the youngster was open to the switch if a deal had been agreed.
However, last month Magpies boss Eddie Howe insisted that he had no indication that the forward had been unsettled by the saga.
‘Anthony is an integral part of what we’re doing. He needs a bit of a break. He’s a had a really long season and the Euros will have been emotional for him as well. I’m confident he is OK.’ said Howe.
‘I think you can only judge Anthony on what he has given Newcastle on the pitch. He’s been committed. We’ve had no conversations over the summer where it has been fractious or negative.
