It was a strange first season under Luis Enrique for PSG.

The 2023 summer transfer window saw a significant shift in transfer policy away from the big names of years past, with Neymar and Lionel Messi both departing. The goal was to create a more functional, cohesive team but that attempt was overshadowed and disrupted by the Kylian Mbappe saga.

After informing the PSG bosses that he wouldn’t extend his deal, the Parisians tried in vain to offload the Frenchman and went into the season with the 25-year-old’s uncertain future looming over the club. Despite not always looking convincing, PSG cruised to another Ligue 1 title and also went deep in the Champions League before being surprisingly stopped in their tracks by Dortmund in the semi-finals.

With Mbappe’s future now settled, the French giants will look to complete what they started last summer and, as a result, the megastar isn’t the only player who will or could depart the Parc des Princes this summer…

Kylian Mbappe (25, Winger/striker)

Kicking off with the obvious one, Kylian Mbappe’s summer departure has finally been officially announced. The Frenchman will leave PSG after seven years at the club, departing as the club’s all-time record scorer.

It is football’s worst-kept secret that the 25-year-old is finally off to Real Madrid this summer after snubbing them at the 11th hour in 2022. It is not expected that he will be officially announced as a Galactico until after the Champions League final.

Keylor Navas (37, Goalkeeper)

Another player whose summer exit has been confirmed is Keylor Navas – unless you are Luis Enrique. The PSG boss was not aware that his side’s game against Toulouse was the Costa Rican’s final at the Parc des Princes and he left the veteran goalkeeper on the bench, for which he apologised afterwards.

Like Mbappe, the 37-year-old is out of contract this summer and will leave. Despite being loaned to Nottingham Forest just a year ago, it is believed that Navas’ time at the highest level is over. Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami have been linked with a move for the ex-Real Madrid man.

Nordi Mukiele (26, Right-back/centre-back)

Versatile defender Nordi Mukiele is expected to leave PSG this summer after not being favoured by Luis Enrique. The 26-year-old was mostly a substitute under the Spaniard and already had suitors in the January transfer window.

Bayern Munich were hot on his trail in the winter but couldn’t reach an agreement with PSG. Chelsea were also said to be briefly interested in the former RB Leipzig man. Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Mukiele will likely leave the French capital this summer despite being under contract until 2027.

Carlos Soler (27, Central midfielder)

Carlos Soler is another very versatile player heading for the PSG exit. The Spaniard can feature pretty much anywhere across the pitch, but that hasn’t helped him in getting regular minutes.

Only signed in 2022, the 27-year-old’s time in France looks to be already over. Romano has announced that he will join Mukiele on the way out, while various outlets have heavily linked him with a move to Aston Villa.

Randal Kolo Muani (25, ST)

Our final player on this list and the one whose exit appears to be most in doubt is Randal Kolo Muani. Signed for a whopping €95m on 2023 summer Deadline Day, the Frenchman has struggled to assert himself back in his hometown.

The former Frankfurt star has been hit-and-miss (mostly miss) and even previously admitted that he feels as though he has the weight of the world on his shoulders because of his price tag. Borussia Dortmund were recently linked with a club-record €50m move for the 25-year-old.
