A number of mouth-watering ties were made in the draw for the fourth round of the Carbao Cup on Wednesday night.

After a tame start and Jamie Redknapp inadvertedly suggesting Brentford versus Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton against Stoke won’t be too entertaining, a heavyweight all-Premier League clash was drawn.

Tottenham will play hosts to Manchester City in the draw of the round, ensuring the competition will lose a heavyweight and one of the favourites before the quarter-final stage.

Elsewhere, Arsenal will travel to Championship Preston after beating Bolton 5-1 on Wednesday, while Liverpool will play away to Brighton.

The ties, which will be played on the week commencing October 28, featue up to five all-top flight ties, with Newcastle versus AFC Wimbledon postponed due to flooding at the League Two side’s ground.

The winner of that game will play hosts to Chelsea in what could be one of six all-Premier League ties.
